Welcome to our
Trip to
London and Paris

When arrived at the airport we found that the plane for our first leg was late due to bad weather in Atlanta, so we had to switch our second leg from a 5pm flight to Gatwick to a 10pm flight to Heathrow. We flew out of Tampa on a Delta flight to Atlanta then waited about 5 hours for our next flight. At 10 we left for Heathrow, where we arrived at 12 noon the next day (Tuesday). Once in Heathrow we took the Heathrow Express train into to Paddington Station. That was good since we had to collect our train tickets at Paddington for Saturday's trip to Gloucester. Next be bought 2 Oyster Cards for the Tube (London Underground or Subway). Then it was off on the tube to the West Brompton station, which was 0.36 miles from the hotel. We drug our suitcases to our home away from home, the EXPRESS by Holiday INN. Once we checked in we unpacked and rested (a euphemism for "took a nap") until about 6pm when we went out exploring the neighbourhood (note the UK spelling) and found a pub where we ate dinner. That gave us enough energy to face the next week. Little did we realise (more UK spelling) we would would "walk our feet off" for 5 of the next 6 days. (We walked a total of 16.13 miles on this trip.)
