CIVIL WAR DOCUMENTS

Gratiot Street Prison in St. Louis
where the Hatridges were held
early in the Civil War

Note that 3 of the brothers were first captured as either insurgents (Confederate) or Confederate soldiers.
They were imprisoned in St. Louis then in a prisoner exchange.
Later, when their homes were threatened by Price's raid into MO, they joined the Union Army.
