Arrive in Glasgow

Meals Dinner
Arrive- transfer to hotel, rest relax, free time for shopping,
exploring & money exchange, Glasgow City Coach tour in late afternoon.
Welcome Dinner and general meeting to outline trip, etc.
Day 2 Wednesday, June 24
Night 2 Glasgow
Meals Breakfast / Dinner
Glasgow, Luss, Loch Lomond, Dumbarton (stop for photo op only), Old Kilpatrick
Trip to Luss and Loch Lomond, lake cruise, Old Kilpatrick, return to Glasgow for a tour of Glasgow's
Hunterian Museum OR Time to research at the Family History at The Mitchell (Library) (research is optional)
Free time until & after dinner
Day 3 Thursday, June 25
Night 3 Glasgow
Meals Breakfast / Dinner
Glasgow/Antonine Wall/Stirling Castle:
Trip to the Antonine Wall sites (Bar Hill Fort near Kilsyth & Rough Castle site at Falkirk),
Visit Stirling Castle in the afternoon. The evening is free to explore and shop.
Day 4 Friday, June 26
Glasgow, Closeburn, Dumfries
Night 4 Dumfries /(***) Cairndale Hotel or Similar
Meals Breakfast /Dinner
Leave Glasgow and drive south towards Dumfries via M7 and A76 stopping at
Drumlanring Castle seat of the Douglases & Closeburn, the seat of Clan Kirkpatrick.
Time here for photos of the Closeburn Kirk and Cemetery, Closeburn Castle and the general area.
On to Dumfries, overview city bus tour then to our hotel
Free time to explore and shop after dinner.
Day 5 Saturday, June 27
Night 5 Dumfries
Meals Breakfast / Optional Mini Burns Night Dinner
Morning, researching at the Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society (Closes at 1 PM)
Afternoon, explore the Bridge House, the Robert Burns Centre, the Robert Burns House, Burns'
mausoleum, Grey Friars Kirk (present location & original location with Plaque) (Bus/Walking) Tonight you may chose to attend a Mini Burns Night Dinner at The Globe pub, one of Robert Burns' favorite haunts.
Day 6 Sunday, June 28
Night 6 Dumfries
Meals Breakfast /Dinner
Dumfries, Caerlaverock Castle
Morning Trip to Caerlaverock Castle
Afternoon free for shopping & exploring Dumfries, or one of the optional side trips with a local private tour organization.
After dinner you have time to rest, relax and regroup.
Day 7 Monday, June 29
Night 7 Edinburgh (***) Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge or Similar

Dumfries, Carlisle, Hermitage, Edinburgh
After breakfast we're off to view Hadrian's Wall & Birdoswald Roman Fort near Carlisle,
then on to our hotel near Edinburgh via a stop to visit/tour the
Hermitage Castle, home of the Douglases (north of Newcastleton)
Arrive at our Edinburgh area hotel and settle in. After dinner the evening is yours to explore.
Day 8 Tuesday, June 30
Night 8 Edinburgh
Meals Breakfast / Dinner with entertainment
We start with a guided tour of The Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle in the morning, then catch a sight seeing bus to the Royal Yacht after lunch & lunch (on your own) Tonight prepare yourself for The Taste of Scotland Scottish Show and Dinner .
Day 9 Wednesday, July 1
Night 9 Glasgow (***) Holiday Inn Express Glasgow City Centre Riverside or similar
Meals Breakfast /Farewell Dinner
Inverness, Loch Ness, Fort William, Glencoe, Glasgow
Up early for a day-long tour of the Scottish Highlands traveling to & through
Inverness, Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle w/a boat ride on the Loch,
Ft. William & Ben Nevis (viewed from a distance), Glencoe,
then back to Glasgow for our final night and a farewell dinner.
